Metrobus Announces Brand Refresh
We've announced a brand refresh that will begin rolling out across our network this year. Residents of West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent and Surrey will see refreshed Metrobus branding as new hydrogen buses are introduced.
The change follows the hugely popular rebranding of the Fastway livery and marks the introduction of 34 new hydrogen buses into the fleet, 12 of which are Fastway buses serving route 100.
This brand update, coming a decade after the last one in 2015, aims to link the new designs of Fastway hydrogen buses with the overarching Metrobus brand, while also retaining the Metrobus heritage colours. The new livery makes reference to the hydrogen branding in both its design and colour palette, and serves as a huge step forward in unifying the liveries as we move closer to achieving our net zero targets.
The new hydrogen buses will continue to roll out alongside the brand refresh in 2025, with 11 new double deck hydrogen buses due to join the fleet.
Furthermore, our logo will also be updated. By utilising an emboldened, impactful and accessible font and incorporating the livery colours – including the angular yellow segment that has been adopted by the Metrobus “M” – the logo will now better represent our new liveries.
This is all just one part of a wider transformation as we set our efforts on a greener future and on bringing more benefits to local communities
Ed Wills, Managing Director at Metrobus, said:
“As we work towards achieving our net zero targets by investing in hydrogen, it is important that our brands reflect that. This refresh makes our Metrobus brand more consistent with the current Fastway liveries on our hydrogen buses and serves as a visual representation of our commitment to sustainable travel.”
The new brand and livery will be rolled out from January 2025
