Metrobus Santa Bus 2024 Fundraising Total Announced

3 weeks ago Mon 20th Jan 2025

In the lead up to Christmas, Santa Claus travelled all the way from the North Pole and hopped on board the Santa Bus in Crawley to spread festive joy and cheer to everyone.

The Santa Bus was in Crawley for three nights to raise money for two fantastic local charities, Rotary Club of Crawley and St Catherine’s Hospice.

Santa was joined by an elf-tastic team of volunteers as people lined the streets and walked alongside the Santa Bus with Santa waving from the top deck. The overall volunteer hours donated equated to an incredible 240 hours.

Due to the incredible generosity of local people an amazing £4,817 has been through nightly bucket collections, local collection points, and an online Go Fund Me page. Metrobus also contributed £1,345 by donating on behalf of every colleague that took part in a company survey.

Ed Wills, Managing Director of Metrobus said:

“This is an incredible amount of money to raise for local two charities in the community we serve. It is an overwhelming display of generosity from local people and those who gave up their time to volunteer. A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen including the teams of nightly volunteers and everybody who came out to donate and give Santa and his helpers a festive wave."

Nina Gopal, Strategic Partnerships Manager at St Catherine’s Hospice said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been selected by this incredibly special visitor, his elves and volunteers not only to bring smiles across the community, but to raise such a wonderful amount for St. Catherine’s.  Thank you so much to Metrobus for making this possible, and we very much look forward to your continued partnership with us.”

The Santa Bus is an annual event, and we’re already looking forward to taking to the streets again with Santa in December 2025!
