We are thrilled to announce improvements to some of our Metrobus services from 10th May 2025.
The changes include major enhancements to routes 23, 65, 100, 273 & 281, bringing benefits to bus users in the Crawley, Horley, Redhill, Horsham, Worthing, East Grinstead and Brighton areas.
Below is a summary of the main changes. Simply click on the route link in the table below or visit our online journey planner before you travel.
Route | Summary |
23/23X | Extra journeys throughout the day to meet growing demand, including a new route 23X double decker return journey (not serving Ashington or Washington). A new evening service will also be introduced between Crawley, Horsham and Southwater. The Sunday & Public Holiday services will be doubled to run hourly throughout the route. The morning schoolday journey will no longer divert via St Wilfrid’s School grounds. This improvement is supported by funding from the West Sussex Bus Service Improvement Plan. |
65 | Improved frequency to every 30 minutes for much of the day. This improvement is supported by funding from the West Sussex Bus Service Improvement Plan |
100 | Improved frequency of up to every 15 minutes during the daytime Monday to Saturday. Evening services will now run every 30 minutes, and overnight services are also improved. The timetable has been revised to improve reliability. This improvement is supported by funding from the Surrey Bus Service Improvement Plan and Gatwick Airport. |
270 | Revised timetables have been introduced to improve reliability. |

273 | Additional journeys have been added in the early morning, during the afternoon peak, and later in the evening. Timetable revised to improve reliability. This improvement is supported by funding from the Brighton & Hove and West Sussex Bus Service Improvement Plans. |
281 | New Sunday & Public Holiday service introduced between Crawley and East Grinstead, Stone Quarry. Combined with routes 291 & 400 this increases the Sunday & Public Holiday service between Crawley and East Grinstead to two buses per hour in each direction during the daytime. This improvement is supported by funding from the West Sussex Bus Service Improvement Plan |
