New tickets and improved fares from 30th March 2026

From Monday 30th March, we’re updating our ticket range to make travelling simpler for our customers. As part of our review, adult one-day ticket prices will stay the same, and outside of the Metrorider zones most single tickets have been frozen. Plus single fares are still capped at £3 until at least March 2027. 

As part of our fares review we're simplifying our range by removing day return tickets. Due to the national fare cap a return journey for most adults will remain at £6. For children our one day Metrovoyager ticket is being reduced in price. 

Weekly point to point tickets are still available, which will continue to offer savings for regular travellers. One day ticket prices will not increase, and longer term tickets will see only small adjustments. 

In addition to the one-day family tickets we already offer within our app, we’re introducing new two-day family tickets.   

These changes help us to continue to provide affordable fares while investing in reliable, sustainable bus services for the future.

Return tickets will be removed from sale - a great value alternative is the Metrovoyager and Metrorider tickets for multiple journeys. 

Child on-bus Metrovoyager day tickets were £5.30 and are now reduced to £4.90. Child Metrovoyager mobile tickets have also been reduced to £4.70, and the Key to £4.80. 

Some shorter adult single journeys will rise by 10p, but most will remain at £3 due to the National Fare Cap. Child single fares within the Metrorider zones will increase by 5p.

Some Metrorider and Metrovoyager products that offer excellent value for longer-term travel will see a small increase. Our updated fares are live on our Ways to Pay section of the website.
