The pleasant, busy Sussex market town of East Grinstead features some truly magnificent historic timber-framed buildings, shoulder-to-shoulder with more modern shops in the High Street.
There is a varied selection of familiar stores, and more independent, individual shops like the well-stocked bookshop in Tudor House, which dates back to 1555, and is very near the War Memorial bus stop. It’s got a café too, so why not pop in for a browse and a coffee?
East Grinstead Museum is a light and airy modern building housing the towns’ social history, just off the High Street in Cantelupe Road. The displays are anything but dusty, and admission is FREE!
