Student Fares & Tickets

Student Travel - for those 16 and over, in full time education and those on Apprenticeship Programmes

Full time students aged 16 and over can get 25% off adult fares on Metrovoyager, Crawley Metrorider and Horsham Metrorider tickets.

To get the discount, students need to register for a Student key smartcard, which is free, from our Travel Shop at Crawley Bus Station or Redhill Bus Station.

Proof of full time student status is needed when registering such as College ID or proof of enrolment.

The Student key card can be topped up with discounted tickets online  or at the Metrobus travel shops in Crawley or Redhill.

The Student 25% discount is not available as cash on the bus or on our m-ticket app.

Please note that discounted tickets cannot be purchased from PayPoint outlets.

Prices can be found here

The discounted student key card includes those on  Apprenticeship Programmes. Registering for the student key card is the same for apprentices - go to one of our travel shops with proof of enrolment onto an Apprenticeship Programme - either an ID card or a letter of enrolment/acceptance on to an Apprenticeship Programme. An apprenticeship course should be registered, which you can check here - click on 'Download CSV'.

Some discounted bus travel for students depends on the County in which you live:

Students aged between 16 and 18 and living in Surrey can apply for a Surrey Student FareCard from Surrey County Council, which enables the purchase of child tickets on the bus, on our app, online or from our Redhill Bus Station or Crawley Bus Station travel shops.

Surrey Student FareCard holders can purchase half rate single, return, weekly ‘point-to-point’ tickets on journeys starting and/or finishing in Surrey, as well as child rate 1 day, 1 week, 4 week, 13 week and annual Metrovoyagers, Redhill & Reigate and Crawley Metroriders.

Simply buy child tickets from our app and show the Student FareCard to the driver when boarding. Or visit our Redhill or Crawley Bus Station Travel Shops with your Student FareCard to get a special key smartcard enabling the purchase of child tickets.
