New buses for Crawley Town Routes 2, 4 and 5

We have invested £2million in 13 new Wright Streetlite single deck buses for the Crawley network. These new buses will go on Routes 2, 4 and 5 which serve K2, Tilgate, Furnace Green, Pound Hill, Three Bridges, Crawley town centre, Ifield, Langley Green and County Oak.

The new look buses are fitted with ultra-comfortable seats and low-floor lighting for a more pleasant journey.

Free Wifi is available and each seat is fitted with a USB charging point for mobile devices.

On-bus information screens will provide next stop information, give more details about destinations along the route as well as the latest BBC news. Live train departure information will be displayed when at nearby train stations to help those of you making a connection from bus to train. There will also be real-time audible bus stop announcements.

The buses are linked to the company's GPS satellite system, so you can see how far away your bus is while waiting at the stop.

Managing director Martin Harris said: “This latest investment shows our continued commitment to improving the environmental performance of our fleet and helps us move further towards zero carbon in the future. We're also excited about the latest features to improve customer experience and the accessibility of our bus services – we do hope customers enjoy them.”

The new buses will be introduced throughout January.
