Visit Nymans, Handcross

Route 271: Daily:  every 2 hours
Route273 - Mon-Sat:  every 2 hours

Route 271 and 273 combine to form an hourly service Monday to Saturday.

At Handcross, near Haywards Heath, Routes 271 and 273 stop near the entrance to National Trust-owned Nymans Garden
Romantic Nymans is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and walking around the grounds you can almost imagine that you are in a Pre-Raphaelite landscape. The gutted shell of a magnificent mediaeval-style manor built in the 1920s in the grounds only adds to this feeling.

If you want to exercise your artistic skills, this is an ideal place to get out your sketchbook, water colour pad, or your camera! You are sure to be inspired to capture the beauty of Nymans, with its wonderful views across the Downs.

There are plants here from all over the world including a notable collection of Chilean plants, magnolias, camellias, and rare specimens from China and the Far East! The spectacular evergreen tree ‘Nymans Eucryphia’ which flowers in late summer, was raised in Nymans Garden, and is now popular in parks and gardens across the country.

There is a restaurant, plus a shop offering a good selection of plants. Special events are held at Nymans throughout the year.
