During 2004 the London Buses requirement for vehicles on new contracts alterted from the 95% red to plain red, with a coloured skirt and colour-contrasting stripe. The Metrobus livery for London vehicles therefore changed again and Dart MPDs 251-256 and Omnidekkas 494-497 were delivered in this attractive livery. A few other Dart SLFs received this style on repaint and the Darts and Mercedes Sprinter vehicles acquired with the Tellings-Golden Miller operation in early 2005 wore a virtually identical livery. Following the decision in 2005 to phase out the yellow on non-London buses this became the third short-lived red variant and gave way to plain red buses for London work.
