In April 2005 the third short-lived red variant gave way to this plain red livery for buses employed on London work. Omnicity vehicles 541-545 were the first examples, delivered new for route X26. All further deliveries and repaints have followed similarly. Partial repaints have since been carried out on other red buses to remove the coloured stripes or blue skirts.
