— Metrobus was established with six vehicles in 1983 at Orpington in Kent and had expanded to some two hundred vehicles when acquired by the Go-Ahead Group plc in 1999. The company has subsequently grown further and now operates a fleet of over three hundred buses while employing over 1000 members of staff.
